Sustainable Destination Management

This course provides an introductory understanding of Sustainable Destination Management. The course aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the destination as a competitive unit and view it as an ecosystem. This knowledge will help participants recognize the role of the Destination Management Organization and collaborate effectively with relevant stakeholders to enhance the development of the destination.
  • Acquire foundational knowledge of sustainable tourism, including key stakeholders and systems that contribute to the sustainability of destination management.

The course features contributions from 26 experts from various countries, offering their experiences and valuable insights. Participants will learn how to apply the introduced tools and methods to their own work environment. By doing so, they can begin taking steps to strengthen the success factors of destinations, implement targeted actions for destination improvement and sustainability, and minimize negative impacts across all three dimensions of sustainability.

This course is designed to be completed within a total of 20 scheduled hours over 4 weeks. You can register anytime and take the course anytime.  

Price

This course is free. However, you can pay € 49 if you want to do the assignments and receive a certificate of completion.
